The release contains the following enhancements to existing NIOS capabilities:

An IP Address Management (IPAM) for Microsoft authentication enhancement which allows Infoblox IPAM administration through a less privileged Microsoft server account than a Domain Administrator. Before creating the CSV file, partners can reference the Infoblox documentation, which tells them how to associate their data fields with the structures NIOS uses to store its data. Then, when the data is imported, NIOS knows how to align the fields. The actual import is done through the Infoblox GUI.

Rule-based DNS Redirection which enables management control of DNS lookups by filtering DNS requests and resolving them according to the rules engine policies. The polices define a condition and a corresponding action for any DNS request. The conditions are based on the Domain Name within the URL (wildcards are supported). The actions consist of the following: Pass (resolve and log), Redirect to a new location (and log), Do Not Resolve (and log)

Domain Blacklisting: With blacklisting, the condition is simply any match against a prohibited list of Domain names. The EX Series is a high performance appliance combining bandwidth management and quality of service (QoS), link load balancing, and network monitoring with granular application and user visibility.
The EX Series helps organizations optimize and secure their networks by understanding network traffic at the application and user level, applying traffic policies to enforce network utilization, and increasing reliability through the use of application bandwidth prioritization and optimized use of multiple links. The EX Series can be quickly placed into a network without network changes to provide instant visibility into applications.
"We had a pair of Packeteer PacketShapers but they could not handle our 500 Mbps connection. After deploying EX Series 3.0 we've had no issues whatsoever," said Todd Marsh, Principal Network Engineer for Bentley University. "The reporting capabilities are head and shoulders above the competition, A10 support is responsive and easy to work with and we have much more granular control and visibility of our network."
EX Series 3.0 includes several new ways to rapidly identify and police bandwidth misuse in addition to the traditional QoS policies that existed in previous versions. By eliminating the 4-GB memory limitation of 32-bit architectures, the new 64-bit ACOS allows each processing thread to utilize more than 4-GB of addressable memory. This translates to unprecedented scalability for Layer 4-7 features such as scalable buffering for application flow Surge Protection, larger RAM Caching for optimizing application response time, in addition to smart buffering to achieve greater throughput, servicing of more overall sessions and faster processing capabilities. The 64-bit ACOS delivers the industry's most extensible architecture for application delivery requirements today, and in the future.

With the 64-bit ACOS, A10 introduces five new AX Series models with throughput ranging from 10 Gbps to 40 Gbps. When an IronKey device is mounted, the McAfee anti-virus software scan will automatically run to identify potentially harmful files.
Conventional USB flash drives and other removable storage devices allow viruses, worms and other malicious code to penetrate systems. IronKey provides active security, including a complete range of anti-malware controls down to the hardware level that enable IronKey devices to defend themselves. The McAfee anti-virus technology, combined with the advanced IronKey security features, provide the comprehensive layers of protection required to make IronKey USB flash drives truly portable computing environments that protect data from loss or leakage, while preventing the spread of malware.
IronKey is dedicated to preventing cyber-criminals from gaining access to corporate and government networks. All data on an IronKey is protected with high-speed, military-grade hardware encryption, password management in a waterproof and tamper resistant housing. IronKey recently launched the industry's most comprehensive anti-malware initiative for protecting removable storage media. It includes ongoing research along with the development of hardware-based defenses against malware and crimeware.
"We are dedicated to working with our partners to develop market leading solutions to protect our customers," said Steve Ryan, senior vice president of business development at IronKey. Recognizing enterprise requirements to track and control the use of mobile storage devices, the Silver Bullet Service provides administrators with flexible and comprehensive management of drives deployed in the field, whether inside or outside the firewall. The IronKey Silver Bullet Service extends the capabilities to remotely disable, destruct or detonate USB flash drives.
A recent study by the Ponemon Institute showed that 26 percent of enterprises have experienced breaches caused by malicious insiders. Building on the company's expertise with military grade, always-on encryption as well as password management in its tamper resistant USB drives, IronKey is now extending its capabilities to allow administrators to set policies that define actions to be taken when a device is lost or stolen, or when an employee leaves and does not return a device. The Silver Bullet Service also provides comprehensive tracking and rich reporting capabilities to deliver provable confirmation about the data stored on the devices for auditing and compliance purposes.
The IronKey Silver Bullet Service provides a variety of options that prevent access to data on the device when it is lost, stolen or in the possession of a user who has been terminated or otherwise deemed an insider threat. Administrators may deny access to the device until its status is verified through the management server. They may disable the device, so the next time the device connects to an internal or external network, the Silver Bullet Service locks out the user completely (which cannot be undone unless the administrator manually makes a change to the state). Or, they may remotely instruct the device to initiate its self-destruct sequence, which actually destroys the internal circuitry so that even the administrator cannot recover the data.
With more and more enterprises going mobile, businesses will see a rapid increase in the number of mobile devices introduced, and according to Forrester Research, growing numbers of employees are not waiting for IT, but instead are going mobile themselves. This introduces major support, management, and security pains to the corporate environment, and IT operations must take steps to control this.
"Encryption provides a first line of defense against data loss from flash drives, but it is not enough, especially for larger organizations that require an enterprise approach to deploying devices and protecting proprietary systems and information," said IronKey CEO David Jevans. "The IronKey Silver Bullet Service provides the management component required for IT organizations to gain visibility into USB drive usage, and ensures protection throughout the lifecycle of the drives."

IronKey unveils enterprise server to provide comprehensive management of USB flash drives

World-Class Management Service Now Available as Virtual Appliance or Hosted Solution Enabling IT Organizations to Control and Track Fleets of Secure USB Devices

LOS ALTOS, Calif., Jan. 28, 2009 - IronKey, maker of the world's most secure flash drive, today announced the launch of IronKey Enterprise Server, an innovative and highly-scalable solution for managing IronKey Enterprise flash drives. IronKey Enterprise Server brings unprecedented mobile data security to enterprise and government organizations by combining the world's most secure USB flash drive with centralized management, remote administration and policy enforcement. Based on the proven IronKey hosted services architecture, IronKey Enterprise Server comprises a robust, policy-driven management environment that scales to thousands of users.
"Due to the highly sensitive and confidential information the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) deals with, we have extremely strict requirements and standards for the technology products we approve," said Kenneth D. Rogers, Chief Information Officer, Science and Technology Directorate of DHS. "We simply cannot expose our sensitive information to the risk of loss or theft, nor allow our systems to be compromised by malware. As one of the first customers of IronKey, it is the only drive we have the confidence to authorize for use in the agency. Having the USB management service available as a server enables us to retain administrative control, while remaining compliant with regulations restricting outside hardware hosting."
Identity theft, data breaches and electronic fraud are serious threats in enterprise environments. The small size and enormous storage capacity of USB storage devices compound these risks. Physical loss or theft of unprotected devices exposes intellectual property, confidential and proprietary data to unauthorized access. IronKey Enterprise Server is a software solution that provides unparalleled centralized management of these devices including data recovery, device re-provisioning, usage monitoring, policy enforcement, content updates, password resets and remote destruction.
"Hardware data encryption for USB devices is a good first step for protection, but in the enterprise environment, centralized management and tracking are also necessary in meeting audit and regulatory requirements," said John Jefferies, vice president of marketing at IronKey. "Our customers now have the choice of using the hosted service or implementing the Enterprise Server. Either way, they gain control and are able to reduce the inherent security risks and demonstrate compliance."
All IronKey Enterprise flash drives are configured for secure remote management by an administrator who establishes security policies that are downloaded onto each IronKey. Advanced management features including the exclusive IronKey Silver Bullet Service protects against data loss or tampering on lost or stolen drives by sending a remote self-destruct signal to the drive to permanently clear all data.
The IronKey Enterprise Server is currently shipping.
About IronKey
IronKey's award-winning products and services combine the world's most secure flash drive with the world's most powerful USB management software.
