- IronKey,
maker of the world's most secure flash drive,
today announced an agreement with McAfee, Inc.,
the world's largest dedicated security
technology company, to integrate the
comprehensive McAfee® anti-virus software
scanning capability, and deliver it on-board
IronKey USB devices. When an IronKey device is
mounted, the McAfee anti-virus software scan
will automatically run to identify potentially
harmful files.
Conventional USB flash drives and other removable storage devices allow viruses, worms and other malicious code to penetrate systems. IronKey provides active security, including a complete range of anti-malware controls down to the hardware level that enable IronKey devices to defend themselves. The McAfee anti-virus technology, combined with the advanced IronKey security features, provide the comprehensive layers of protection required to make IronKey USB flash drives truly portable computing environments that protect data from loss or leakage, while preventing the spread of malware.
IronKey is dedicated to preventing cyber-criminals from gaining access to corporate and government networks. All data on an IronKey is protected with high-speed, military-grade hardware encryption, password management in a waterproof and tamper resistant housing. IronKey recently launched the industry's most comprehensive anti-malware initiative for protecting removable storage media. It includes ongoing research along with the development of hardware-based defenses against malware and crimeware.
"We are dedicated to working with our partners to develop market leading solutions to protect our customers," said Steve Ryan, senior vice president of business development at IronKey. "Now all of IronKey's customers can enjoy peace of mind knowing that they have the industry's leading anti-virus protection coupled with the world's most secure USB device."
